..Let me tell you all about the talented and lovely photographer, Andrea DiCenzo.. well let’s see.. It was August 2006 and I went over to my friend Taylor’s house in Santa Cruz, Ca after moving back from Italy (ps – Swanton love!). He had a bunch of people over that I hadn’t met before. Enter this awesome girl who wanted to find someone who a.) Knew who the Black Keys were and b.) would want to go with her to the upcoming SF show. Um, hello!? Enter your new best friend, girl, my name is Ashley….
…It has been a little over 3 years now, and here we are, at month 8 of living together, working as photographers and functioning as the others support and cheerleader in London. And I still love this girl to pieces. Never mind that she is the most supportive, sweet, and fun girl – and she is, I could go on about what an amazing friend she is – but let’s talk about her photography. Basically, it’s GREAT! BEAUTIFUL. The Cat’s Meow. So check her stuff out!
Andrea’s work is fresh to look at without ever being too chimerical. She let’s us into both the world of what she visually sees and that which she artistically/mentally sees, rooting what she has to say and her stories in the very real and inspirational world around her, be it the women of a city or the wilds of Scotland. I am also a particular fan of her affinity to good ole’ classic film for much of her work.
So go check her out! (No, not like that – although she certainly does no harm to the eyes to be sure… but check out her photography! …Talented and beautiful? Oh my!)
