Happy Halloween!!!

It is 8:36pm on the night of Halloween, and I’m still at the cafe working, and I still haven’t decided what my costume will be.. an oldie but goody I haven’t worn for All Hallows Eve since I went to UCSC or make a last ditch search for red bottoms (leggings, shorts, skirt, I’ll take it) and don a fresh and also awesome costume. Hmm..

I’ve also been working on pictures from Mexico while listening to Flamenco (and thus thinking of the Guerrys, my mom, and Spain, and late night flamenco revelry) and now there is a pretty good world music ensemble that just started playing on the stage in the large cafe lounge – nice! Its a good thing I do well working with lots of sound around me… where it all blends and goes into the background and I get to work!

(except I’m writing a blog post = not work)

World Music Band at RichMix Halloween 2009

Here is my costume from last year; I was a cocker spaniel because my friend Taylor has often said that I look like Lady from Lady and the Tramp. I’m pretty sure he meant that as a good thing..

..when I looked up Cocker Spaniels on a dog breeding website it said, “A well-bred Cocker is sweet, loyal, cheerful, playful, trustworthy,  adaptable — all those things most sought after..”

Ok ok,  I like it!

Sites then go on to say they are, “Bold and keen to work…Cheerful, sweet, and sensitive.. r Merry and endearing. A happy tail-wagger. Gentle and trusting.. They are lively, playful and devoted.. with average intelligence. They can be difficult to housebreak.” WTF. Average intelligence? Maybe that’s just British cocker spaniels. As for the last comment.. I’ll have to defer to my mother (was I difficult to housebreak Mom?)

… and then below that an only slightly embarrassing picture from Halloween 2005 in Florence, Italy. It looks like I accosted my poor friend Nate – which isn’t true. I actually accosted every single person at the party. I ran into many friends many days later laughing and cursing me for it, as they still had red splotches of lipstick faintly visible on their cheek/arm/elbow. Yep,elbow. Devil’s kiss?…

Why do I think its a good idea to write embarrassing stuff about myself on my own blog?

However wild or tame, may you all have a fun and safe Halloween!!!
